Photo-A-Day: Day 30

Day 30: Card

Today is our 15th Wedding Anniversary.  If I were to buy a card for my hubby I would most probably get something like this ... it is totally crass which appeals to my sense of humour.

Photo-A-Day Day 28

Day 28: Clock
It's stupid o'clock and I'm awake getting ready to take the dog for a walk (well, actually I'm not, I'm in bed mucking around on FB thinking about taking the dog for a walk).

Photo-A-Day Day 27

Day 27: Tap
The girls tap dancing.  I love tap, it always amazes me the sounds they get out of the different movements in their feet.

Photo-A-Day: Day 23

Day 23: Pair
A pair of shoes.  These are my workboots.  They used to be purple and a certain percentage of the purchase price went to breast cancer awareness.  As you can see they are pretty beaten up and have a nice layer of coal dust so they aren't that purple anymore

Photo-A-Day: Day 22

Day 22: Home
This is our front veranda where we spend our Friday nights or where I have a cuppa on the weekends.  We often call it the fishbowl as often the conversation will cover the same subject over and over ... the people sitting there have the memory of a goldfish so it's like a new conversation every week.

Prepping for exams
I thought I would add a pic of the girls preparing for their upcoming ballet exams.  My spin bike is just the right size as a bar substitute.

Day 21: Cool
I think it's pretty cool that Moo's netball team won their quarter-final and will be playing in the semi's next week in their first season of playing at competition level.  They have had an up and down season with issues of one family not paying their fees and were therefore stripped of their points.  We weren't aware that the fees weren't paid, as far as the team manager knew we were all up to date.  After that the team really struggled to get back on track so to get into the finals has not been an easy road for them.  To hear their squeals of delight and see them jumping up and down with excitement yesterday was priceless.

A bit cloudy but nice and warm.

Day 19: Hole
The tooth fairy has been busy

Photo-A-Day Day 18

Day 18: Inside
Inside Mal's smoker.  We had his party with a redneck/bogan theme so the meals were various smoked meats with potato salad and coleslaw.

mmmmm .... baked ham
The 'cake'
A croquembouche that's not quite a croquembouche.  We covered it with snakes, sour worms, cachous and chocolate.  It tasted bloody yummy!

Do I make a good bogan?

Photo-A-Day: Day 14

Day 14: Arrow
A bit of a chemistry lesson today.  This is the chemistry behind one of the analyses we do for testing coal quality.  You would be quite surprised how much testing happens before it is mined and when it has been sent on a train or a ship.

Day 13: Simple
It's the simple things in life - like a morning cuppa.

Photo-A-Day: Day 12

Day 12: Spoon
When my Grandparents passed away, my Mum asked if there was anything that I wanted from their place.  I asked for one of my Gran's tablespoons that she used to bake with.  It reminds me of fresh scones straight off the pan and other goodies she used to bake when we would visit.

Today I'm doing a test run for Mal's birthday cake.  It's his 40th next week and he has requested a croquembouche.  I have never made one before so I have already done one test run which was a failure, now it's trial #2.  If today's doesn't work I'll be going to Plan B.
