The Chief

My training has been very hit and miss lately.  I've done something to my neck/traps and decided to take some time off ... luckily it has coincided with Easter and Anzac weekends and the fact that I felt like I needed to take a break from Crossfit mentally as well.

I went to the box yesterday and did the lifting part of the WOD and gave Grace a miss as I am struggling with getting anything overhead.  Today I went in and did "The Chief" which may not have been the smartest thing for me to do as my left side is back to where it was.

The Chief is:

Max rounds in 3 minutes of:
3 Power cleans, 60kg/40kg
6 Push-ups
9 Squats
-
Rest 1 minute. Repeat for a total of 5 cycles. Score equals total rounds. Partial rounds count, start each round where you left off on the previous round.

There was a bit of a drop in my rounds but I was starting to feel some pain in the early rounds.  I should have stopped but stupidly I didn't.  I'm not sure what I was thinking to be honest.  Actually, I do know what I'm thinking.  I feel bloated and yuk after a weekend away with my family which always is a nutritional disaster for me, I have lost my mojo and am trying to talk myself out of doing any form of exercise so I'm putting that whole "just fricken do it" hat on and trying to push myself out of my funk.  I know it isn't going to hurt me having a break from everything but at the same time I miss it when I'm not there.  Anyway, I'm off to accupuncture again today and a massage tomorrow night and hopefully it will help with my neck and shoulder.
